An Interview with Liew Cheon Fong of LiewCF.com

Today, I have the oppurtunity to interview one of Malaysia’s top blogger,who recently whe “pro”
with his Tech Gadget Blog, Mr. Liew Cheon Fong.

He’s also the owner of Malaysia Bloggers Forum,
and my “Boss” over there.

I would like to thank him for his time,below are what he had to say about the qurstions forwarded to him..

1. Name,Age,Sex

2.Where are you from?

Kluang, Johor, Malaysia.

3. What powers your blog? (blogger,wordpress..)

Wordpress!

4.How many blogs do you own?

Four. Two are active liewcf.com and idealgadget.com, one is starting
mac-switcher and one is idle kluang

5.Why choose “Tech” as your blog topic?

I am very interested on tech stuff, and I know it best.

6.You’ve recently become a problogger,why? what motivated you?

The stable Internet revenue gives me the confident to do it full time. I
always wish to work at home and full time blogger give me the chance.

7. How many post do you start per day?

I don’t actually count how many post I published per day. Averagely, it
is around 5 posts per day.

8.Obviously adsense makes money for you….lucky or hard work?

95% hard work. 5% lucky.
It is very easy to use Adsense, but to make money from it, you really
need to study about it.

9.Why did you start a forum on your blog?

I often get visitor emails asking some tech questions. I think those
questions & answers are useful for others too, why limits to 1-to-1
communication? A forum let everyone has the access to the tech answers.
Plus, posting in forum is easier than writing an email.

10.Your also the owner of malaysiabloggers.com, what made you start that forum?

We have a blogtal (Project Petaling Street) but we do not have a place
for local bloggers to do some discussions among bloggers.
MalaysiaBloggers.com is created to fit the gap.

11. How many years have you been blogging?,plus did anyone inspire you to blog?

Hmm… 3 years? Frankly, I don’t actually remember how do I get
started. I was not inspire by anyone.

12. Google?.what do you think of them?

It is the “Microsoft” in Internet age.

13.Charlize Theron or Jennifer Aniston?

Huh? Who are they?!

14.still single i hear…any particular reason?..;)

It is because I seldom chat in IRC now.
After being dumped for three times, I have no much confident on “love”
anymore. My main focus now is on “career”. But, you are always welcome
if want to introduce any girl to me.

15. Why did you stick with the Kubrick theme?

In fact, I always stick with Wordpress default theme. The default theme
is great.
Well, I will change the theme if any web designer offer a better design.

16. what’s the biggest amount of unique visits you’ve received in a day?

19 August 2005. It is my 25th birthday and the BoingBoinged day

The site got 14,000 unique visits for the day.

17. How much space/Bandwitdh does your blog consume per month?

Around 25GB bandwidth per month. Current space used is 450MB.

18 Finnaly…Your advice to newbie bloggers out there?.

Blog as you wish but always obey to the law. If you want to become a
popular blogger, always keep your reader in mind. Blog something unique
and interesting.
